Château La Fleur de Bouard is a family story because Hubet DE BOUARD DE LAFOREST is also owner of Château Angélus, 1st Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion where he has been holding the vinifications for 25 years.
An exceptional situation for a quality vineyard, located in the heart of the right bank, boarding the plateau of Pomerol and near Saint-Emilion. The surface of the vineyard is 25 years old. The grape variety proportion is 80 % Merlot, 15 % Cabernet Franc and 5 % Cabernet Sauvignon. The harvest is done manually and then transported in trays. The viticulture is led in soils best respect.
The estate is composed of a double shortage table : before and after the destemmer and optical shorting. The alcoholic fermentation is held in little tanks and barrels. The vinification is held by gravity and the malo-lactique fermentation in barrels and on the lees. The ageing is also held in barrels made of French oak during 12 to 33 months depending on the vintage.
