« Mission » as called at Bordeaux, is named after a religious congregation established in the XVIIth century. The vineyards of Clarence Dilon, owner of Haut Brion, bought this vineyard in 1983. Even if they are neighbors, these two crus have a complete different style. Château La Mission Haut-Brion was bought November 2nd, 1983 by the Dillon family. This is also the date of birth of the passionate interest of Prince Robert of Luxembourg for this property. Upon its entry in 1997 in the management team in the field, his ambition is to give to the Mission and the technical team he leads all means that this property can produced the Premiers Crus that allows the exceptionality of its terroir.

A vineyard whose soil is similar to his famous neighbor and vinification lead by the same team. Everything is managed to produce a great wine. The vineyard of La Mission Haut-Brion is 26.6 hectares and the vines planted on the vineyard is 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42.7% Merlot and 10.3% Cabernet Franc.

In 2007, new winery of an impressive technology, tasting room, a bottling plant and sophisticated storage space are created. Returning to the career of Frontenac, the stone was extracted to build a winery that could well be described as a modern cathedral of wine. In 25 years the Dillon family has put forward all the technical advantages of this wine, the vineyard to offer on dinner tables around the world, a glimmer of paradise.
