Chateau Certan de May's history goes back to the 18th century. Back then the owner was Family Demay. Today Chateau Certan de May's owner is the Family Berreau-Badar. The Chateau is on the highest point in Pomerol between Chateau Petrus and Vieux-Chateau-Certan. The vineyard is 5ha large. The old oak barriques were replaced for new stainless steel tanks and the new barriques increases to 40%. Only 2000 cases are produced every year. The grapes are 40 years old and the cuvee is about 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc amd 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
