Château Rauzan-Ségla experienced many owners in its past. In 1661 an influential tradesman in the region, Pierre des Mesures der Rausan, bought the estate from the de Gassies family. Approximately at this time the vine cellar was built. Due to the legal order of succession the old estate Château Rausan war split in Château Rausan-Ségla (Ségla was the name of Pierre des Mesures, de Rausan's last direct successor) and in Château Rausan Gassies. In 1994 the estate was incorporated into Château Rauzan-Sélga S.A. The company is a filial branch of Chanel Group owned by the Werthheimer Family.

The compounding of grapes at the Château is classic: Cabernet Sauvignon (61%), Merlot (35%), Cabernet Franc (2%) and Petit Verdot (2%). The wines ripen up to 20 months in barriques, 65% of which are exchanged to new ones at each vintage. Château Rauzan-Ségla has dence, exotic red fruits in the nose combidend with the usual oak note. On the palate the wine develops its rounded firm grip with good tannins. In overall, it is an elegant wine with spiced fruits.
