The Château Gazin, a former property of the Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, is one of the largest vineyards in the Pomerol appellation in terms of area. The connected vineyards are located on the upper terrace of the famous Pomerol plateau.

Gazin is a property of the Bailliencourt family. The Bailliencourt dit Courcol come from a noble family from Landas (northern France) and belong to one of the oldest families of the Artois. The nickname "Courcol" (court col = short neck) was given to one of them in 1214 by Philippe Auguste, King of France, for warlike heroic deeds. At the beginning of the 20th century, Louis Soualle, the great-grandfather of the current owners, acquired Château Gazin, which is run by his descendants with care and attention.

The harvest is vinified in cement tanks and undergoes malolactic fermentation and ageing in oak barrels. The wines are fined with the help of egg white and, if necessary, lightly filtered before bottling. The production of one vintage can reach 100,000 bottles (of which 30,000 are for the second wine) and 80% is exported. Château Gazin is a member of the Bordeaux Wine Academy.

This classic Pomerol presents an enormous strength and at the same time elegance. It is fruity and rich.
