Situated on the famous pebble terroir of Saint-Émilion on the border with Pomerol, the estate was separated from Château Figeac in 1897. La Tour Figeac was named a Grand Cru Classé when Saint-Émilion was first classified in 1955.
The Rettenmaier family has managed the fortunes of the château since the early 70s. Wine-growing and winemaking are not only carried out in respect of the Bordelais traditions, but also using innovative methods such as ecology, biodynamics, compost production, Pigeage (pressing the mash), etc.
The know-how of a whole team led by Christine and Stéphane Derenoncourt allows the flexible respond to the needs of each vintage and to express the terroir in the best way. The authentic wines of Château La Tour Figeac are elegant, fruity and pleasantly spicy with typical notes of mint, eucalyptus and violet.
