Château Haut-Bergey, whose origins date back to the 15th century, is reminiscent of a Sleeping Beauty castle with its turrets, conical slate roofs and pink cellars. It was bought in 1991 by Sylviane Garcin Cathiard, who decided to take the same care with her vineyard as she does with the largest châteaux in the Bordelais.
Behind the charm of the estate, a high level of mechanisation and strict standards characterise the installations and the management of the vineyards: in-depth analyses of the soil and subsoil have been carried out on all the plots to ensure precise, natural and traditional viticulture. Optical sorting during the meticulous harvesting process makes the selection of the grapes perfect. The fermentation cellar, with small stainless steel tanks, is equipped with the best technical procedures to ensure precise and appropriate vinification. In the maturing cellar, the wines are stored in new or one-year-old oak barrels, the proportions depending on the vintage.
Château Haut-Bergey produces a structured and elegant red wine of exceptional personality, as well as a fine and delicate white wine.
