Durfort Vivens, from the municipality of Margaux, lived for many years as a wallflower. Sometimes it belonged to Chateau Margaux, sometimes it was assigned to Brane Cantenac. In 1992 G. Lurton came to the helm and it became independent again. In 1999 Jerome Heranval, a young, ambitious winemaker, took over the technical management of the classified chateau and drove it upward with his own ideas year by year.
The 30 hectares of vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Merlot. Château Durfont-Vivens is a full-bodied wine with a lot of youthful freshness and fine elegance.
