Acquired by Vincent MULLIEZ in 2004, Château Belle-Vue comes from an exceptional terroir, whose history is linked with the wines of Bordeaux. Yesterday active headquarter of an inland water shipping, the estate is now famous for its vineyards. Renowned in the 19th century, the estate has won many rewards: gold medal at Amsterdam in 1895, silver medal in Bruxelles in 1897, in Paris in 1900 and in Bordeaux in 1907. The last vintages, notably since 1999, have been regularly distinguished in competitions and by the international press.
The vineyard is 10 hectares big and composed of 53% of Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% of Merlot and 20% of Petit Verdot- it is quite unusual to find this level of Petit Verdot in the blending of a wine. The average age of the vineyard is around 30 years. The oldest vines were planted in 1907. Reviving with a tradition of quality, Château Belle-Vue benefits from the most careful and enlightened cares in terms of viticulture, vinification and ageing, in a spirit of excellency and quest of perfection.
