Château Belgrave, named the Fifth Grand Cru Classé in 1855 for the quality of its deep pebble soils, has been managed by Vignobles Dourthe since 1979. This beautiful 18th century hunting lodge is surrounded by 60 hectares of contiguous vineyards and is located in Saint-Laurent on the edge of the Saint-Julien appellation, from which it is separated only by a stream.
Much work, passion and energy have been invested to produce wines worthy of the best terroirs of the Médoc. The vineyards have been completely renovated and are now cultivated with the utmost care.
The ripe grapes are vinified in a fermentation cellar equipped with the latest technological developments and benefit from the experience Dourthe has gained on all his estates.
This complete renovation of the winery has been completed with the restoration of the ripening cellar in an extremely modern style. Since then, the modernised and carefully considered Château Belgrave has confirmed that it belongs to the elite of the Crus Classés des Médocs.
