For all history fans Château de Pressac is an important place because here, in 1453 after the Battle of Castillon, the capitulation of Britons was signed and the end of the Hundret Years' War between France and Britain was sealed. During the Reaissance de Pressac was a gorgeous manor house with 27 towers. Since 1997 de Pressac has been owed by Madame and Monsieur Quenin, a former concern manager, who established further improvements and worked on de Pressac's distinctiveness. To its characteristics belongs the terroir containing three different soil types: plateau, slope and bottom as well as vinifying of varieties that dissappeared from Bordeaux long time ago: Malbec and Carmenère. The rest of percentage is dominated by 75% Merlot combined with 14% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. Château de Pressac has its own style and belongs to the insider tips in the appellation Saint-Émilion.
