For more than a century and a half, its two hectares of park and its ancient trees have made Château La Pointe an exceptional residence. It gained its reputation as an important winery in the 19th century.
From 2008, the estate, which is one of the largest in Pomerol, underwent major construction work to bring out the full potential of the château and enhance its image.
A detailed study of the soils enabled the drainage system to be optimised and the quality of the grapes to be further improved. The Cabernet Sauvignons were hammered out and the yields of the Cabernet Francs were adjusted so that they could fully develop the finesse and elegance that have made their reputation on the right bank of the Gironde.
Extensive renovation work in the cellars in accordance with current environmental requirements now makes it possible to carry out the vinification process with respect for the specific characteristics of each vineyard plot.
Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, co-owner of Château Angélus and an internationally renowned wine consultant, is now also contributing his experience to the team at Château La Pointe.
