The origins of Château Monbousquet reach into 16th century, to the year 1540. In the recent past a superstore owner Gérard Perse took over the estate from the Querre family who had managed the vineyards for almost 50 years. Perse added to his property Châteaux Pavie, Pavie Decess and La Clusière later on. Thank to exceptional skills of Michel Rolland the quality of production at Château Monbousquet increased rapidly. The vineyards measuring 33 ha are planted with 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification is processed in 100% of new oak barrels. The Monbousquet wine is considered to be one of the most extravagant and seductive in Bordeaux.
