In 1996, the Chateau Combon with its 63 hectares of vineyards was taken over by Annick and Jean-Pierre Marie and did not look forward to rosy times at that time. Today, the two have transformed the chateau and its vineyards into a remarkable winery. Château Cambon belongs to the "Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Médoc" in the "Crus Bourgeois Supérieurs" category, which aims to preserve the 2003 classification. This requires that bottling takes place only at the chateau, that there is no sale in the barrel and that the wines are subjected to quality control by regular spot checks. The wine critic Robert Parker writes: " An exceptional, up-and-coming enterprise in the southern Medoc".
