This imposing estate owes its name to the Konnetabel Talbot, the English commander and governor of Guyenne, who was defeated in the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453.

Talbot's vineyards are ideally situated on the banks of the Gironde estuary and extend over the famous pebbled hills on which alone the best wines of the region are produced. The winery is one of the oldest in the Médoc and has always enjoyed a high reputation. Over the centuries, it has always been in the hands of competent owners and has always proved worthy of the rank awarded to it in the 1855 classification.

The Cordier family has owned Château Talbot since the beginning of the 20th century and continues the idea of quality from generation to generation. Here, wine is a matter of the past and the future, tradition goes hand in hand with technical innovation.

Year after year, the interaction between man and nature and the centuries-old knowledge of this extraordinary terroir result in different but always harmonious and complex wines. Five hectares of vineyards are used to produce a lively and balanced dry white wine called Caillou Blanc, which also expresses the full prestige of its terroir.
