Château Potensac belongs to the Médoc appellation and is classified as „Cru Bourgeios“. The vineyard has been owned by the Delon family for 250 years; the same family is also proprietor of Château Léoville-Las-Cases. Business is run by Jean-Hubert Delon now. The area of 57 ha is planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The long-lasting red wine ripens 12 to 16 months in oak vats, 20% of them are renewed each vintage.
Château Potensac is distinguished by elegant flavors of dark cherry and some plum notes. More meaty at the entry, with good substance and well-balanced tannin core.
