Chateau de Beaucastel, which is property of Family Perrin, is one of the biggest stars of Chateauneuf du Pape. For the first time I visited the lovely vineyard with its impressive winery in April this year. In spite of the modern cellar equipment the winery is not at all pretentious. It has preserved the sweet charm of the South.
The average age of the organic farmed vines is 50 years, of the special Cuvée Hommage a Jacques Perrin even 70 years. De Beaucastel is special because of the use of up to 13 vines for the red Chateauneuf du Pape!
De Beaucastel combines power and density with finesse and elegance – all these things the wine fans love! The 2010 is simply a masterpiece of the wine art!
