Château Beauregard enjoys a privileged location on the southern side of the famous Catusseau plateau in Pomerol and has a beautiful terroir of pebbles and clay.

Its history dates back to the 12th century. The Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem (former name of the Knights of Malta) owned a small manor house here, which served as a relay station for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The Beauregard family had a magnificent building constructed on this site in the 17th century, which was in turn replaced during the Napoleonic era by the current building, designed by a pupil of Victor Louis. This elegant 18th century chartreuse symbolises the history of Château Beauregard and its universally recognised charm.

The choice of grape varieties on Beauregard is unique: the wine is 30% Cabernet Franc. This grape variety, often discreet in the early years, gives the wine freshness and race over time. The wines of Beauregard have a striking fruitiness in their youth and, as they mature, develop all the depth and delicacy of the great wines of Pomerol.
